Track 1. Something Fast (Intro)

A month of extensive concert activities has begun in Israel. The first of the concert trio were the kings of gothic rock The Sisters of Mercy. To be honest, I never was their superfan, but if I hadn't gone to their performance, I would have cursed myself for sure. In addition, by today's standards the price of tickets was quite acceptable. The initial disadvantage of such events in Israel is the lack of an after-party, the lack of DJs and a mid-week concert with a late start and therefore a late finish, which means missing the last bus home. Therefore, the night was expected to be long.

Track 2. Body and Soul (The Club and the Audience)

I have already been to some events in the club called Teatron. Then it seemed not a particularly large. People were already gathering near the club, but it did not seem, that there would full house. We already thought, that the hall would be half empty. A pleasant and unexpected meeting with friends was also ... pleasant and unexpected. Having received the ordered tickets at the box office, we finally entered the hall and immediately realized, that there would be nowhere to push through at the show. After sneaking into the club, we immediately decided to have a beer before it was too late. The beer in the bar was at quite reasonable prices, which was nice nowadays. After buying a beer, we ‘d found a strategic position to watch the opening act...

Track 3. Not Infront (Israel)

5-6 people suddenly came on stage, took their instruments and started playing. No introduction, no greeting. It turned out strange. The vocals were dampened, the sound was not perfect and there was absolutely no communication with the audience. But the performance itself was v actually pretty solid. Guitar darkwave with gothic rock and alternative guitar scene elements with a touch of electronics. Dangerous mix. Previously, I was not familiar with this project. Apparently, the time has come to get to know each other (besides, as far as I understand, a member of the industrial project Seventeen Migs of Spring, which I love, plays keyboards there). The material attracted my attention. They sang and played about 5-6 songs and left as quietly as they appeared. The main drawback was the lack of communication with the audience (I will say this more than once in the report, by the way). I don't know what it's about, but besides that aspect, the performance was very good.

Track 5. The Sisters of Mercy (UK)

The British gothic rock project has already been to Israel, but it's been a long time ago. To be honest, I think that the performance was better back then. The time was different, more suitable for such music. By the time The Sisters of Mercy themselves began to perform in the club, there was already totally packed venue and moving around was somewhat difficult (going to the toilet could take half an hour). The VIP area, as far as I could see from below, was also packed. It's nice to see, that people in Israel love good music also. The band entered the stage after an extensive smoke eruption, that continued throughout the whole show, which made it very difficult to take pictures (apparently, not only for me, because I could not find normal photos after the event). Because of this smoke, the band was not really visible for most of the performance. As I found out later, all their concerts are the same. So where is the proof that the performers are the real Sisters of Mercy?! The sound engineers did something with the sound, so the vocals were almost inaudible for the first part of the performance. It just drowned in the music. The smoke with lighting effects created a gloomy atmosphere on the stage. The first part of the performance of The Sisters included mostly not known songs. I recognized only "More" there. But then the vocals’ sound was fixed and the songs became more famous. The smoke dissipated a little, so we could see the band members as well. After "Dominion/Mother Russia" the audience was turned on completely. Exactly at that moment I felt the atmosphere of times, when the gothic subculture was just starting its way. The band played two encores. "Walk Away", "Something Fast", "This Corrosion" and other hits continued to turn on the crowd and ended, as you might expect, with their most famous "Temple of Love". And again, during the performance, there was no communication with the audience. Not a word. As I found out later, it's a common thing on The Sisters of Mercy concerts all over the world. Do not know what to say. Usually, you expect something different from bands of this level.

Track 6. When You Don't See Me (Outro)

In general, I can say that, even taking into consideration the disadvantages and shortcomings of the event, I enjoyed it. I'm sure, that most of the visitors enjoyed either. The opening act and the second part with The Sisters were good. But I won’t say that I will 100% go to their performance in the future.
