H₂F⁺=>Electronic Goth Lab: TOP2025 of Electronic Gothic Music
The gothic electronic music scene in 2025 continues to delight with its diversity and interesting releases, both classic and crossover, and incorporating other genres and scenes. New names have appeared in 2025, with young, but formed musicians continuing to hold their level, while known veterans are also keeping up the good work, taking listeners back to a time when gothic electro and gothic industrial sounded unadulterated and without any commercial features. The scene is alive and kicking.
Covered genres: gothic electro, synth-goth, electrogoth, dreampop, dark-trip-wave, gothic industrial, electrofolk, coldwave

10. Silver Tears “Silver Tears” (synth-goth, Coldwave, synthpop | Germany, Avant! Records)
The German duo Silver Tears first appeared in 2023 on a compilation released by Eskimo Recordings. Afterward, the musicians spent two years working on material for a full-length album, which was released in 2025 on Avant! Records. Damian is a member of the new wave project Skelesys and Luca is known for several mostly domestic house, disco and other electronic projects dating back to the 2000s and 2010s. Their self-titled debut album combines synth-goth and coldwave with elements of synthpop. The result is a very high-quality album with male vocals and melodic compositions, that aren't really dark, but aren't overly light either. A successful debut with good high-quality music.
09. Crying Vessel “Sepulchers: The Servant” (coldwave, synth-goth, synthpop, postpunk | USA, Cold Transmission Music)
The American project Crying Vessel was founded by a member under the pseudonym Slade Templeton in 2010, in parallel with his two other projects Defunct! and The Chronologic, in which the American worked in the field of techno and house. The first Crying Vessel albums were released on unknown labels or on their own, and in the second half of the 10s the project was noticed on the scene and in 2017 the album was released on the format label Manic Depression. In the early 20s Crying Vessel rose to the level of major label Cleopatra, where two albums were out. In 2025 the seventh and eighth albums of the project were released on the German label Cold Transmission Music. Both are under the Sepulchers brand, one of which is called "Sepulchers: The Maiden" and is performed in the guitar styles of gothic rock and synth rock, and the album "Sepulchers: The Servant" lies more in the electronic plane of the dark scene, combining the genres of coldwave, synth-goth, synthpop and post-punk. The album does not have that cold detached sound inherent in classic coldwave and romantic melancholic synthpop is used not as a background, but in the same proportions as gothic electronic genres even with some newwave atmosphere. Postpunk compositions also diversify the album without making it oversaturated with different genres. It turned out to be very diverse, melancholic and melodic. Good work.
08. Dawn + Dusk Entwined “Let Fall What Must Fall” (gothic industrial, synth-goth, industrial darkwave, neoclassics, dark ambient | France, Dark Vinyl Records)
The history of the French project Dawn + Dusk Entwined begins in the mid-90s with the independent release of their debut work in an industrial style in the genres of dark ambient, martial industrial and neoclassical opuses. During its many years of history, the project was published by such giants of the industrial scene as World Serpent, Cold Meat Industry and Steinklang Industries. In the early 20s the author of Dawn + Dusk Entwined, David, decided to change his sound to a more gothic-oriented, adding ethereal, gothic electronics and darkwave to the sound. The new album "Let Fall What Must Fall" became one of the two solo works of the Frenchman in 2025, to which a collaboration album with French colleagues Nature Morte was added. The album features 9 compositions in a combination of different electronic styles of the gothic scene with atmospheric dark ambient, neoclassics and industrial darkwave aesthetics. The gothic industrial of Dawn + Dusk Entwined is not rhythmically dancy like Das Ich or experimentally mechanical as Die Form, but rather complements the gothic melancholy of synth-goth and neoclassics. David's soft airy vocals with lyrics in English and French add romanticism. The Frenchman's work is very diverse and at the same time consistent.
07. O Lethe “Frozen Star” (dreampop, trip hop, ambient | Sweden, Self-Released)
The first compositions of the Swedish project O Lethe appeared on their Bandcamp page in 2024. During its history the Swedish project has released several singles and 3 EPs. The debut full-length work entitled "Frozen Star" was released in February 2025 for free download on their Bandcamp page. The album features 12 atmospheric compositions, where elements of trip-hop and ambient are twisted into the main style of dreampop. Ethereal female vocals with English lyrics nicely implemented in such gentle soft music. A very good debut of a young project, that should be followed by fans of atmospheric dreampop with variations.
06. Ash Code “Synthome” (synth-goth, coldwave | Itay, Swiss Dark Nights)
The Italian project Ash Code was formed in the mid-10s in Naples by Alessandro and Claudia, who were later joined by Alessandro's brother Adriano. Almost immediately the project signed a contract with the Swiss label Swiss Dark Nights, which was gaining momentum at that time, where all the full-format works of the Italians were released. By 2025 Ash Code had 3 full-length albums, several singles and EPs and 3 live releases. Ash Code also engaged in remixes, among which they remixed such giants as Moby and Clan of Xymox. The fourth work of the Italians is called "Synthome" and is performed in a recognizable trio style. Melancholic compositions in the genres of synth-goth with saturated keyboard parts and the use of bleak coldwave sound, intertwining and alternating vocals of Alessandro and Claudia create a unique iconic atmosphere of Ash Code music, which is so loved by lovers of electronic gothic music. "Synthome" turned out to be one of the best in the discography of the project and rightfully take a place in the top of electronic gothic albums of 2025.
05. Danser La Nuit “Nocturne” (synth-goth, postpunk, gothic rock | Italy, Swiss Dark Nights)
The Italian trio Danser La Nuit was created in the mid-20s from the project The Monitor by its author Adam with the participation of Filippo and Paolo. The debut work of the Italians was released in 2024 on the Swiss label Swiss Dark Nights, which was followed by the second album called "Nocturne". The project works in the genre of synth-goth, sometimes using postpunk and gothic rock to add volume to the sound. The result is very high-quality synth-goth with male vocals, which takes the listener to the 00s and 10s, when the genre of synth-goth in its classic sound was at its peak. A good solid work of a relatively young Italian project will be a a welcome addition to any collection of electronic gothic music lovers.
04. The Discussion “All the Pretty Flowers” (coldwave, dreampop, postpunk, synth-goth | USA, Artoffact Records)
The Discussion is a relatively new name on the dark scene map. The project was founded by the American Laura, known for her work in the prog-rock/sludge metal band Kylesa. In fact, Lora is the only participant in The Discussion and she gathers a group of session musicians for the shows. As part of The Discussion, the American moved away from the rock and metal scene in the direction of combining the electronic genres of gothic music with the guitar aesthetics of postpunk. The debut album "All the Pretty Flowers" was released on the well-known label Artoffact Records and consists of 10 songs based on postpunk and coldwave with elements of the synth-goth and dreampop genres. Good female vocals and not an experimentally cold sound make the debut of the American very successful and high-quality. Now we are waiting for the continuation, because, taking into coinsideration her other projects, among which there is hardcore, doom metal and various other metal genres, the development can be very unpredictable.
03. Das Ich “Fanal” (gothic industrial | Germany, Danse Macabre)
19 years. That's how long we've been waiting for a new full-length album from the German kings of gothic industrial. There's no need to introduce Bruno Kramm and Stefan Ackermann. Despite Das Ich's silence, Bruno's label, Danse Macabre, continued to operate and released a wealth of interesting high-quality music over the past 19 years. And now, the time has finally come for Das Ich to delight listeners with a triumphant return. And a comeback became very strong. The Germans' new work titled "Fanal" is made in the classic recognizable sound of the project, so long missed because nothing like this has appeared on the scene in the past 19 years. Eight original compositions take listeners back to the legendary "Gott Ist Tod" and the rhythmic gothic industrial, that has become the project's signature. Listening to the album, I could clearly imagine Das Ich's theatrical performances of the new compositions, complete with Stefan's expressive gestures and facial expressions. Each track on the album is carefully crafted and refined to perfect sound and structure. A powerful return for the gothic scene's greats. The original release also features two remixes by Das Ich themselves, while the limited edition includes remixes of widely varied genres from such dark scene colleagues as Frozen Plasma, Kontrast, Mildreda, Xotox and others.
02. Seasurfer “Electronic Monsters” (synth-goth, dreampop, coldwave | Germany, recordJet)
The German project Seasurfer was formed by Dirk in the early 2010s with Dorian on vocals. After the release of their debut album in 2014 the project underwent lineup changes. Dorian left the project and was replaced by Julia Beyer, known for her work with Chandeen and Technoir. After the 2015 album Julia also left the project and Apolonia took over vocals. They released their second album "Electronic Monsters" in 2025. The Germans' self-released new work combines synth-goth, coldwave and dreampop with Apolonia's distinctive vocals. At times, the compositions are rhythmic and even danceable, at others they are melancholic ballads-like, and at others they feature cold, lingering ambient music. The project continues to create an interesting sound with high-quality music and maintain its reputation. It's probably safe to say that the music on "Electronic Monsters" could be considered as a classic sound of modern synth-goth.
01. Vioflesh “Nostalgia” (synth-goth, gothic electro | Chile, DarkTunes Music Group)
The Chilean project Vioflesh burst onto the dark scene in 2023 with their debut album. It was then, that they caught the attention of both listeners and labels. The duo of Vio and Flesh has essentially been together since 2017 and, in addition to a full-length album, has released several EPs. The new work is called "Nostalgia" and is made in a dark mixture of melancholic synth-goth with a more electronic and rhythmic gothic electro. Vio's cold detached female vocals with English lyrics harmonize perfectly with the music and create an emotional undertone of the personal reflections embedded in the music. This is truly exceptional material from the Chileans, who have already firmly established themselves within the dark scene. "Nostalgia" is rightfully considered the best gothic electronic album of 2025.
